$90.00

Glass Serving Tray, Unique Serving Dish Our fanciful decoupage tray shows a detail from an anonymous 16th-century German drawing. The dance of death was a popular theme among medieval and Renaissance artists. The imagery of skeletons dancing with people from all walks of life-from emperors to peasants-reminded viewers that no one is immortal. Adapted from the Museum’s Department of Drawings and Prints, this art-inspired design was made exclusively for The Met by John Derian. Based in New York City, Derian’s workshop is celebrated for his unique decoupage creations featuring hand-blown glass.
