An illustration by midcentury architect Ralph Rapson was the inspiration for the Rapson Cave Chair. This chair was originally conceived by Rapson in 1943 as a plywood construction with a cushion. Perfectly oversized, futuristic, comfortable, and fun, the Cave Chair will induce hours of conversation whether you are sitting in it or just walking by. Named after the earth excavated Cave House that Rapson designed with Dave Runnells in 1939, it too was never built.
