First designed in 1947, the George Nelson Bubble Lamp Collection has stood the test of time. The simple structural shapes with the innovative use of taut plastic over fine steel wire were born from George Nelson’s frustration to buy a Swedish-made silk lamp which produced a soft light. This unique use of shape and material produces a diffused light that is free of glare while offering an abundance of illumination. These pieces are part of the permanent collection in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and remain icons in modern lighting.
The brushed nickel plated ceiling plate will accommodate three George Nelson Bubble Lamps with a diameter of up to 19 inches. The metal and walnut ball frame allows for the Bubble lamps to be hung in a cluster of three lamps creating a dramatic effect. Let your imagination soar with varying cord lengths and shapes.
