Packed with detail, Hans J. Wegner’s CH22 Lounge Chair is a masterpiece of design ingenuity. Each individual piece comes together in a sculpture – from the carved armrest support that stretches from armrest to frame, embracing each in turn, to the arched back legs that are exposed where they join and support the concave backrest, effortlessly making the joinery a part of the overall design and aesthetic. In a final show of skill, the seat’s woven paper cords are affixed through horizontal grooves along the back rail to create a comfortable sit as a finishing touch of the hand-assembled CH22 Lounge Chair.
