High-Rise Fusion of Navy and Magenta

Come away with us on a short escape to the Seaholm Residences in Austin, TX, where designer Maureen Stevens has transformed the space into a chic retreat where bold colors and geometric patterns flourish. The client expressed a desire for a boutique hotel vibe with all the frills, an opportunity Stevens used to transform the condo unit from a plain modern-industrial aesthetic to a daring navy and magenta pad.

The designer firmly advocates for two main ingredients in her spaces: they must be well-edited and immensely functional. “Add refreshing to classy, a dash of ‘oomph’ to sophisticated and you’ve got a recipe for my style aesthetic,” she adds. Stevens is also a professional stylist for lifestyle publications and commercial projects. “For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been passionate about curating visually pleasing spaces and vignettes. Arranging books and accessories on a shelf so they look balanced, adding simple but beautiful touches to gift packaging, choosing color palettes for a room, and helping friends coordinate all the little details that make a tablescape a ‘wowscape’,” she adds. The award-winning designer currently splits her time between Austin and New Orleans, where she tends to her busy family life and growing design firm.
