Cat Palms (Chamaedorea cataractarum) are indoor trees native to Southern Mexico. They can grow up to 3 feet indoors. They can be grown outdoors in the summer when it’s hot but must be brought in when temperatures fall below 50 degrees. Only in the sunny and warm areas in hardiness zones 11 and 12 can these trees be kept outside all year long. Their long, narrow leaves burst out from the center, creating a dramatic and exotic appearance. Just keep the soil moist and put the plant in medium to bright light and it will be very easy to care for.
