This classic pendant was first introduced in the early 1950s as a light for many Naval buildings, such as canteens and offices. The unique lighting quality of the Navy Pendant, as it was known then, made it a go to choice for many years but was removed from the Louis Poulsen catalog in the early 1980s. The Navy Pendant has now been reborn as the Doo-Wop Pendant. The colors are new but the production methods remain unchanged. The shades are still hand spun and detailed with a fine rolled edge to give each light a special optical volume. The polished brass shade is a special challenge as it is spun from one solid brass plate.
The soft downward light is provided by a white conical reflector. The main shade helps to direct the light both upwards and downwards while simultaneously spreading the light to further soften it. The Doo-Wop is available in a variety of colors.
