William Morris Violet and Columbine Pillow from The Met Museum

$38.00

Our rectangular cotton pillow recalls “Violet and Columbine,” a woven wool textile in The Met collection. This charming, flower-bedecked accent piece will bring the beauty of an English garden indoors. In 1861, William Morris (British, 1834-1896) cofounded a London interior design firm (reorganized in 1875 as Morris & Co.) to design and produce a full range of household goods. A prolific designer of wallpapers and fabrics, he was celebrated for his lavish botanical motifs, such as the ornate 1883 pattern seen here.
