John Derian Nine of Hearts Rectangular Tray from The Met Museum

$72.00

Decorative Glass, Decoupage Hearts Tray This heart-bedecked decoupage tray evokes the nine of hearts from a set of piquet cards-one of the oldest card games still played today. Made in France in the late 18th-early 19th century, this charming, hand-colored woodcut is attributed to Claude Fayolle (French, ca. 1752-1826). Adapted from the Museum’s Department of Drawings and Prints, this art-inspired design was made exclusively for The Met by John Derian. Based in New York City, Derian’s workshop is celebrated for his unique decoupage creations featuring hand-blown glass.
