Decoupage Apples Plate, Decorative Glass This decoupage plate features decorative details from a letter that artist Edouard Manet (French, 1832-1883) mailed to his friend and fellow painter, Eugène Maus. Dated August 2, 1880, the sheet includes this enchanting little watercolor sketch of two apples from Manet’s garden. Adapted from the Museum’s Department of Drawings and Prints, this art-inspired design was made exclusively for The Met by John Derian. Based in New York City, Derian’s workshop is celebrated for his unique decoupage creations featuring hand-blown glass.
