Heraldic Shields Men’s Socks from The Met Museum

$9.00

Add a pop of color to any outfit with this eye-catching pair. The bold pattern on our gallant men’s socks celebrates the famed Knights of the Round Table, whose banners festoon the Equestrian Court at The Met Fifth Avenue. Such heraldic symbols emerged in the Middle Ages (ca. 1000-1400) as a form of identification for knights’ armor. Our designs are copied from the “official” roll of arms of Arthur’s knights, compiled by the Arthurian enthusiast Jacques d’Armagnac, duke of Nemours, about 1450.
