French Bouquets Journal from The Met Museum

The introduction of varied plant and flower species to France during the 19th century held great significance for French lives. Nothing illustrates this better than the volume of flower paintings produced at the time. Bringing the garden inside as a floral bouquet was a frequent practice of many artists.
