Egyptian Feathers Infinity Scarf from The Met Museum

$35.00

The colorful design on our infinity scarf references a small masterpiece of Egyptian woodcarving (Middle Kingdom, ca. 1981-1975 B.C.) in The Met collection. Discovered in the tomb of the king’s chief steward, Meketre, this statue depicts a richly adorned woman carrying a basket of food on her head. The subject personifies an estate that would have provided food for Meketre’s spirit in perpetuity. The feather pattern on her dress is common in representations of goddesses.
