African Geometric Patterns Wool-Blend Scarf from The Met Museum

$95.00

Our unisex scarf recalls a cotton bogolanfini, or mud cloth, in The Met collection. Created in the West African nation of Mali during the 19th-20th century, it’s typical of the traditional textiles crafted by Bamana weavers and dyers. In a collaborative process, men weave the cloth and women decorate it using plant extracts and mud. The resulting geometric patterns in shades of black and brown are unmistakable.
